I’m rather late with posting this as we had a lovely visit to Canberra on the weekend for mother’s day. It we had a great weekend spending time with family and friends and enjoying beautiful Canberra Autumn as its really at it peak at the moment. Anyway here are the photos taken on the 10th this month I tried to take a photo every hour or so.
Hope you enjoy a little peak into our day.
Breakfast 8:00
9:00 homeschool learning letters with rods
We’re doing a unit study using Ping which the kids are adoring!
10:00 Morning tea. The other day I did a vintage photoshoot and had the homemade lemonade leftover which kids had as a treat in the bottles.
11:00 finished another crocheted beanie.
1:00 After lunch each day we all go for a walk ride. Meaning the kids ride their bikes and Hubby and I walk all the way to the near by lake and then back home on the way we pass the skate park so the kids get a few minutes there before we continue on our walk . Mister J is getting so daring!
2:00 ish the lake calm and still.
3:00 suppose to be having quiet time but not so happy about being on his bed.
At about 4:30 we went down to Wasp head which is a really great fishing spot a few minutes away from house. Hubby caught some scrummie squid and the kids and I had fun on the rocks. Mister J is such a scream this picture is so Him mucking around with his sister’s beanine.
What have you been up too? Have you any projects on the go?

April 14th, 2012
I can hardly believe a week has gone past already this year just seems to be flying by so quickly. Last Friday was double celebrations being Good Friday and Ashley’s birthday. We started our day rather early as the birthday girl woke at 6:00am.
We have a tradition at our house the whoevers birthday it is they get to choose their breakfast and favourite dinner. This year Ash wanted bacon and egg rolls and for dinner chips and party pies not a very healthy choice but the kids all love it!
Since last year Ash has been counting down the days until she reached double figures, so the day arrived and nothing could stop her from beaming with joy and happiness.
Ashley your a dreamer . animal lover. your caring. tree climber . story teller . loyal friend. kind. compassionate and so many more words to describe your beautiful nature I’m so proud to have you as my daughter and friend and I’m so thankful for you may this year to come be filled with blessings xo
love your Mum xoxo
April 10th 10 on 10 personal project ( taking 10 images on the 10th day of each month documenting my family life)
I’ve recently meet some lovely fellow photographer through facebook, flicr and instagram and Sharon over at Memories by Sharon Mallin shared a photo last month of a project called 10 on 10 its a personal project to take ten frames on the 10th day of each month for the whole year.
This is my first attempt at this project and I think next month I would love to document our day and take a frame every hour or so but this time I only realised at lunch time so have written on the calendar for next month!
Head over to Sharon’s gorgeous blog and checkout her beautiful captures for her 10 on 10 I had goose bumps looking through them. http://www.memoriesbysharonmallin.com.au/blog/2012/04/10/10-on-10-april-2012-blue-mountains-photographer/

Liana made some lovely jam biscuits for afternoon tea she was so excited I don’t cook often with the kids as it stresses me out so this was a special school holiday treat!
Most day we try and go for a walk to the near by lake the kids all ride their bike and Hubby and I walk.

The boys both wanted to take their scooter instead of their bikes so hubby improvised and helping little Lukie!
This is common sight at our house abandoned shoes.
The lake a resting place and then lastly finishing the day with lighting the fire. Its been a cold windy day. I think I have a few more then ten here hope you’ve enjoyed my 10 on 10 see you next month

Recently while having my daily dose of computer time I’ve come across some new inspirations. Beyond snapshots http://www.beyond-snapshots.com/blog/ after doing some reading and some serious eye candy I was really taken by some the images displayed . Life is a photo op was the title its an interview with a fellow photographer plus her images well worth a read full of inspirations.
I think as photographers we sometimes get so busy capturing other peoples precious moments that we forget to stop and delight in the simple moments that happen around us on a day to day. I’ve definitely been making more of an effort to document our family life and in the mundane finding joy.
How do you find joy in the day to day? Any strategies or ideas would love to hear your thoughts.
Here are some images taken over that last week or so.

Did you ever make a cubby under the table ? The kids had so much fun playing in their cubby made under the table. Happy weekend everyone
Im not sure why Im so sad this birthday but Snugglebug is our youngest and 5 yrs well thats almost school age. He’s doing preschool work with me at home I didnt feel he was quite ready to start big school yet so I will be enjoying every moment of this year !
Snugglebug has been looking forward to being five since just after he turned four. One morning he came to me crying ” Mummy I don’t like being four I want to five”.
We decided to have a small party for him a week after his birthday as some close friends where holidaying down at Lilli Pilli then and I really wanted them to celebrate with us .
I tried to document his actual birthday as it happened but that was difficult as our house doesn’t have the best lighting anyway will stop boring you with detail and will let the photos tell the story.
All four kids share a room so this is picture of some of Snugglebugs art plus his siblings and a picture of his bed and his special cuddlies.

This picture was taken by my eldest daughter Ashley she’s nine.

Snugglebug and Miss M have known each other since they where about one they have a really sweet relationship I was so pleased to be able capture them having little chats in between bubble blowing!

Happy Birthday sweet boy hope this year is full of blessings for you!

I had so much fun meeting Dave and Jen and their gorgeous children down the beach early on Wednesday morning. The light was divine but after our session it was starting to heat up.
Mr H took a little while to warm up but he was soon showing me his boyish character. Miss T was full of sweet smiles.

This last one crack me up! Has’nt she got the most gorgeous eyes and lips so much personality. Thanks again Jen and Dave hope you like the end result.

January 30th | day 30
Wow day 30 already this month has just flown by. The story behind todays photo:
Its been a hot and muggy day today we have all been quite lethargic due to the heat. We had some left over coke from Dash’s birthday so I decided to treat the kids to a spider drink. Lemonade and icecream or in this case coke, I think its nicer with lemonade but coke was all we had.
I had hoped to do a family shot with the tripod and self timer but come this evening everyone was too sticky and hot and bothered.
I have really enjoyed this project and I intend on making a small book of the photos
Anyway here todays shots. A big thankyou to all those out there who have been following along and making lovely comments.

January 28 & 29th | day 28-29
I missed yesterdays photo so have decided to post yesterdays and today together rather than do two separate posts.
Our friends who have been staying with us the past few nights brought with them a new game of Chinese checkers. Over the weekend the kids and adults had many happy hours playing with it. I absolutely love the light in this shot! I heart backlighting!
Todays photo is a bit different to rest. I thought I’d give my family a rest from having me point the camera at them and have captured a gorgeous old barn which in near our house. I’ve been meaning to capture it for months but when ever I think about it we’re always in the car going somewhere. I decided to shoot it at sunset which wasn’t the best time so it didn’t turn out as I expected. I may try and re shoot it at sunrise and see the difference at some stage . Anyway here they are :
